Platinum Pubic Strategies, LLC's founder has held positions with executive oversight of two of the State of Illinois' largest agencies, Healthcare and Family Services and Central Management Services. As the former Assistant Director of the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Kimberly had executive oversight of the largest health insurer in the state of Illinois covering 3.4 million people. The agency also manages the State's child support program for which Kimberly was the executive sponsor. At the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, she had executive oversight of the agency that managed the state's property, group health insurance, human resources, information technology, labor relations, procurement, and minority and women owned business program.
Prior to working in State Government, Kimberly managed external affairs for AT&T in the city of Chicago, where she planned, organized and directed efforts in various communities on behalf of the company. She was responsible for establishing relationships with community, civic, and political leaders, as well as other key stakeholders. As a leader in community engagement, she directed programs that promoted good corporate citizenship and enhanced community good will through participation in meaningful initiatives. Kimberly was also the company's liaison to local government, specifically working with officials in both City of Chicago and Cook County Government.
As Director of Business & Workforce Diversity for the Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority, owner and operator of McCormick Place and Navy Pier, Kimberly directed the day-to-day operations of the organization's diversity initiatives which included employment and contracting. As a member of the senior leadership team, she established programs and policies that had a direct impact on the economic inclusion of diverse people.
Under her leadership, the Authority exceeded its diversity goals on the $882 million dollar construction of the McCormick Place West Building. As a result, the Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority received several awards from a myriad of organizations including:
Kimberly is President Emeritus of the Young Women's Leadership Charter School Board, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of DuSable Museum, and serves on the boards of the Back of Yards Neighborhood Council and the Beverly Arts Center. Formerly, she served as Secretary of the Board of the Calumet Area Industrial Commission, was a member of the Chicago State University Foundation Board, and was Chair of the Diversity Action Committee, an inter-governmental alliance that she founded which was dedicated to the growth and development of the minority and women owned business community.
